I honestly do not know where time has gone – seriously. Am I even old enough to be able to celebrate this?!! (yes! Though I was very very young back then!) Thirty years ago today I walked down a very long aisle in a very white dress, to meet my man at the other end. We promised to love each other forever. As long as we both shall live. And, to God be the glory, we have! And surprisingly, we are better than ever. More in love. And just as committed, if not more so. Time has proven to show us some amazingly great times, and several really really hard times. But, when it’s all said and done, here we are, still today. I’d do it all over again. Yep, I think I’ll keep him. 🙂

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”
Seriously. Are you kidding me?!!! Bear does it AGAIN!!! I have a feeling the squirrel population will retaliate somehow! This time, my man was home. He stepped to the kitchen sink, looked out the window, and spotted the poor thing. Just laying there. Still. I was stunned. I mean, really – is that not a one time thing?!!! So I went out the back door to see what the dogs would do.
They join me eagerly, wagging tails and all, just chilling with mom on the back patio. I was talking to them, about how was their day, etc. Then I asked Bear – “do you have something to show me? What do you have?” I am not at all kidding here – he turned, went and fetched the squirrel, and again pranced proudly by me with it dangling from his mouth, and dropped it by the patio. Then came right by my feet, and rolled over, waiting for his belly rub. wow. I’m not even sure what else to say about this…..so I’ll just stick with the facts. My dog has caught and killed two squirrels in four days. stunning. Hope your Monday has been as exciting as Bear’s.
Though I finished my Mother’s Day excitement in the E.R., we have answers, and good ones. We can live with this outcome, and we cannot tell you how grateful we are for your prayers! Truly, I believe God honored them, and I’m so grateful. So very grateful to you for your kind words, and support. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally after about 48 hours, she is really resting. And I am at peace. All glory to God.
“Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
“On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
Matthew 10:1 the message
” The prayer was no sooner prayed than it was answered.”
I pray the very same for you. May the prayers you are praying be answered. Our hope is not in any one diagnosis, or answer, or solution. Our hope is in Him. Our hope is Christ.
It’s Mothers Day, and I had a whole different post to write today. I have hesitated even posting this one, due to many things. However, we need prayer right now, and I am risking it for my daughter. She has had a variety of symptoms for the last couple weeks, and we still do not know exactly what is going on. Hopefully we will find out soon. Would you please pray for Sara? Now? I will not be more specific right now, and thank you for your understanding of that, and our need for her protection and privacy. But I believe truly this can be a spiritual victory with your help. So, on this Mother’s Day, I could ask for no more than your partnership in prayer. I trust that the Spirit will guide you as you pray. And I know He will listen, and answer. Thank you so much, from the bottom of this mom’s heart.
The adventures of Bear and Turbo continue……
After a very long week with a sick daughter, I stepped out the back door to feed the fun doggies. I first sat down in our lawn chair, just to talk to them for a couple minutes first. Turbo diligently sat close and let me pet him. Bear came up to me, said “hold on a minute, I’ve got something special for you”, turned and trotted across the yard, picked up something in his mouth, and literally pranced back to me, with this dead SQUIRREL in his mouth!!!! Oh. my. GOODNESS!!! He dropped it at my feet, then laid down on his back so I could scratch his belly. he was smiling. (I’m not kidding about the smiling, I was kidding about him talking). He was so very proud.
Now, I must tell you how very thankful I was for Sara’s boyfriend, Patrick. He was the man! (only the three of us were home at the time) He came outside immediately – laughing as I squealed – and “took care” of the gift Bear brought me. Kind of made me sad, though, for Bear. He was so proud and all……
what’s next? I don’t dare speculate…..
“Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.” Colossians 1:9-12 the message.
May your unendurable spill over into joy. His joy….. I’m praying for you.
