living without stereo

This last week I have been living with a frustrating situation.  I tend to listen to my music at least two hours in the morning as I run, ride my bike, and walk the dogs.  (yes, dogs – we got a puppy on Saturday!  He is ADORABLE, and the perfect puppy!) I’ve been trying to ride my bike again in the evening, when the temperature drops to below 100 degrees.  Of course, I would like my music then, too.  However,since last week, one half of my headphones has not been working. The left ear.  I’m not kidding.  I have been listening to my praise with only one ear.  I have been enjoying only half my music.  mono, not stereo.  

Certainly not earth shattering, I’m aware.  But today during my run, listening to my worship with my right ear, God spoke.  Not in my ears, but definitely in my heart.  He told me we were meant to live in stereo.  We were meant to function with all that has been given us.  If we don’t, we are not experiencing all that He has for us.  Just as I had felt the loss of my full-functioning headphones, we would also experience loss if not pursuing Him, and serving Him 100%.  He came so that we could live full.  live abundantly.

So, we shall.  I pray today that you don’t hold back.  That you chase after Him fully and with much joy.  That you find your life being better than you had ever dreamed of.  Overflowing with joy!  amen!

(by the way – I just picked up some new headphones – tomorrow morning it’s back to full stereo!)
