My favorite song during this recent season has been Everlasting God. I love it. deeply. I love the Chris Tomlin rendition. I especially love the way Lincoln Brewster sings it. I love singing it at church. I love singing it on Wednesday nights with the youth. I love singing it in my head. I love singing it out loud. really loud sometimes. I especially love singing it in my car. with the sunroof open. I love what it does to my heart as I sing it. I love the way my joy is full after I sing it. I love how God continues to teach me more and more about Himself – through His Word, and through songs such as this one. So, here it is. Sing it along with me, in your mind, or right out loud. But find the joy waiting for you – and hope in Him.
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

after dealing with our BF homework, finding satisfaction in God, my thoughts were full of trying to describe satisfaction. while listening to “our favorite” in the car on the way to work, i thought…your Word put to annointed music makes me satisfied, and full. like this song, too, although not sung by our dove boy! miss u today…
